There's an article in today's Washingtpost about how formula companies helped water down a breast-feeding campaign. I read a lot of articles like this, and I am tired of it...
When M. was born we lived near a Mead-Johnson plant that produces Enfamil. There were women in my congregation who had literally been told it was un-American to breastfeed because it would take away jobs from American workers (this was in the 50's mainly) Made me sick. Breastfeeding can be hard at first, and this sort of junk doesn't help. And I am probably unnaturally proud of the fact that neither of my girls has ever had a drop of formula... :)
